Getting started
Learn the essentials before you join Peermigo.
What is Peermigo?
Peermigo is a student networking and study collaboration platform. It helps you discover study partners, join study groups, share notes and organize study sessions.
Who can use Peermigo?
Peermigo is intended for students aged 18 or older at universities, colleges and other supported learning institutions.
Do I need an account to use Peermigo?
You can browse the public Home, About, Resources, Contact and help pages without signing in. To view student profiles, find peers, message other students, join groups or share notes, you need a Peermigo account.
How does Peermigo recommend students?
Smart Matching v3 uses subjects/modules, course, institution, campus and preferred study format. On-campus matching considers the actual campus, online matching prioritises academic overlap, and availability has a small effect. Scores are compatibility estimates, not guarantees.
What study details are required at registration?
Institution and type, course or school grade, at least one subject/module and a study format are required. Campus is required for university/college students selecting On campus. You can correct matching essentials later, but cannot leave them empty.
Studying together
Make the most of your student community.
Can I connect with students from other institutions?
Yes. Online and hybrid study partners can be recommended across institutions where academic interests overlap. The Find Peers directory also offers broader discovery of visible student profiles.
How do Study Groups work?
You can create or join study groups, take part in discussions and share learning material. Group creators have additional controls for managing members, content and group details.
Can I create or join study sessions?
Yes. Signed-in students can discover sessions. You can schedule or RSVP to sessions associated with groups you belong to, subject to the group’s settings and session availability.
Can I share files and study materials?
Yes. You can attach JPG, PNG or WebP images to Notes, and use supported file attachments in private messages and group discussions. Only share material you have the right to distribute.
Can I keep my study notes private?
Yes. Choose Only me for a private note, or On my profile to make it public to authorised signed-in students and eligible for the Discover Notes feed. You can edit or delete your own notes.
What is Discover Notes?
Discover Notes lets signed-in students find and save other students’ public study notes. You can search by topic, browse recent notes, read attached images and report inappropriate notes. My Notes lets you manage your own content.
Privacy, verification & support
Your information and your choices matter.
What does the Verified Student badge mean?
It means the Peermigo team has manually reviewed and approved the student’s verification information. It is not a guarantee of identity in every context, conduct or personal safety.
Can someone view my profile without signing in?
Student profiles require sign-in. Your profile discovery choice can limit how you appear in Find Peers. Public notes may be viewed by authorised signed-in students; private notes stay with their author.
Are my private messages secure?
Peermigo uses authentication and database access controls to restrict messages to their participants. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid sharing passwords or sensitive personal information.
How do I turn email notifications on or off?
Go to Settings → Notifications to control available activity emails and in-app notices. Password resets, account verification and other security emails are separate. Check Spam or Junk if an expected email is missing.
How can I report inappropriate behavior or get help?
Use Peermigo’s available report or block controls, or email peermatchstudents@gmail.com. If you feel unsafe, stop communicating, avoid meeting privately and contact relevant local support or emergency services.
Can I edit my surname or hide my activity?
Yes. Edit Profile has separate given-name and surname fields. Settings → Privacy & Safety lets you control whether you appear in Find Peers and whether last-seen activity is shown. You can also block students in Settings → Blocking.
